The Golden Arrow District held its annual District Recognition Dinner on February 15, 2007. At this dinner, the following individuals were honored by the GAD with the District Award of Merit:
- Rachel Deskin
- Ken Groue
- Steven Mulvehill
- Gordon Start
- Cathleen Trechter

The District Award of Merit is awarded by a District to registered Scouters for service to youth in the District. This is a Council-sponsored award that is the highest honor that a district can bestow upon one of its Scouters. Limited to one award for every 25 Units in the District or fraction thereof. The requirements are as follows:
The recipient receives a plaque, signed certificate, and official knot badge.
- A nominee must be a registered Scouter.
- A nominee must have rendered noteworthy service to youth in Scouting, outside Scouting, or both. The nature and value of "noteworthy service to youth" may consist of a single plan or decision that contributed vitally to the lives of large numbers of youth or it may have been given to a small group over an extended period of time.
- Consideration must be given to the nominee's Scouting position and the corresponding opportunity to render outstanding service beyond the expectations of that Scouting positions.
- The nominee's attitude toward and cooperation with the district, division, and/or council is to be taken into considerations.
- Nominations cannot be considered for posthumous awards.
