The central office of the American Red Cross is located on the north side of
the Southwest Freeway, near Kirby.
Basic Aid Training - 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Offered on the 3rd Saturday of most months.
The fee is $10 per person.
This course is often taken by 4th and 5th Grade Webelos and
meets the requirements for the Readyman activity badge/pin.
First Aid Merit Badge, and
Adult First Aid (and CPR) - 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Offered on the 1st Saturday of most months.
The fee is $25 per person.
This course covers most but not all of the requirements for First Aid
merit badge. The course does not cover requirements 1, 6b or 7.
Upon completion of this course, the person receives the ARC "First
Aid Basic" card and the ARC "Adult CPR" card. The ARC does not
issue the blue merit badge cards, and the ARC instructors are often
not registered with the BSA to serve a merit badge instructors.
After taking this course, the scout must meet with a BSA-registered
merit badge counselor (usually within the scout's troop) to complete
the merit badge.

An alternative to the courses offered by the ARC on the Southwest Frwy is
the NBO Scout Training Team. The NBO team offers the same ARC courses,
but all instruction is by registered scout leaders.
